Belagavi, Dec. 19 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday sought to put an end to speculation about a possible leadership change in the state Congress, stating that he was elected for five years and intends to complete his full term.
Speaking on the floor of the state Assembly, he said, "I am the Chief Minister, I will continue till the party high command orders. I have been elected for five years." He emphasized that there was no power-sharing arrangement with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to split the tenure of the chief ministerial post.
The remarks come amid growing political buzz following a dinner meeting of Congress MLAs considered close to Siddaramaiah in Belagavi on Thursday.
