Mangaluru, Oct. 27 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said he would continue in the post for the full five-year term if the Congress High Command decides so, asserting that the top leadership's decision will be final.
Speaking to reporters at the Mangaluru Airport, Siddaramaiah was responding to a question on whether he would remain in the post amid ongoing discussions within the party. He said seeking the Chief Minister's post in a democratic setup is the right of any leader, and competition cannot be prevented.
"In a democracy, one cannot tell others not to be contenders. Asking for the Chief Minister's position is their right. Supporters expressing that I will remain Chief Minister for five years is their personal opinion. ...
