Bengaluru, March 12 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday voiced strong opposition to the proposed delimitation of Parliamentary constituencies, aligning with the DMK-led opposition and condemning the Centre's move as a threat to democracy and federalism.
Meeting a delegation of DMK leaders at his official residence Cauvery, Siddaramaiah criticised the alleged attempt to weaken the representation of southern states. Tamil Nadu Forest Minister K Ponmudi and Rajya Sabha MP Mohammed Abdullah Ismail apprised him of the growing dissent over what they called the "anti-democratic and anti-southern stance" of the Union government, a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.
