Eluru (Andhra), Feb. 26 -- Taking a holy dip on the occasion of Mahashivaratri turned to be fatal for two siblings in Andhra Pradesh as they drowned in a rivulet on Wednesday.
Police said the deceased siblings Pericharla Muniaiah (25) and his younger brother Pericharla Murali (22) went to the Tammeleru to take holy dip and perform Pinda Pradanam to their deceased parents.
They entered the rivulet to have a holy dip, but they drowned.
NDRF teams later fished out the bodies. The deceased siblings belonged to Tummalapalem village. The police have registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem. UNI DP XC SSP
