Lucknow, July 14 -- Parents of Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who will leave for Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) today, performed Rudrabhishek for his safe return.
Hearing the news of Shubhanshu's return, there was a festive atmosphere at his residence in Lucknow today.
His father S D Shukla was emotional and said, "Today is a very special day for us. Incidentally today is the first Monday of Sawan. This day is dedicated to Lord Shiva and we went to the temple with the whole family and performed Rudrabhishek of Shiva."
"We prayed to God that our son returns safely. When he left for space, we still prayed to God for his protection, and are praying for his safe return with the same faith, " he said.
