Sydney, Oct. 27 -- Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Sydney hospital after suffering a life-threatening injury during the third One Day International against Australia.
Iyer sustained the injury while fielding when he dived backward to take a spectacular catch to dismiss Alex Carey. The impact caused a serious injury below his left rib cage, leading to internal bleeding and dangerously low body vitals.
