Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- A major fire engulfed a Bata showroom in Chembur early Monday morning, causing extensive damage to electrical systems, shoe stocks, interior installations, and false ceiling panels, fire brigade sources said.
They said the blaze broke out around 4:30 am at the commercial establishment located in Shiv Ashish Cooperative Housing Society near Malhar Hotel on Road No. 19, Plot No. 10.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade responded quickly, deploying multiple units to contain the Level-1 fire. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 7:50 am, preventing injuries. The fire affected a 2,000-sq. ft area on the ground floor and a part of the basement of the seven-storey building. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire....
