Chandigarh, April 11 -- A shopkeeper was left critically injured on Saturday morning after an unidentified assailant opened fire at him inside his store in Rohtak, Haryana, police said.

The victim, identified as Praveen, runs a cement and iron rod business under the name Rajlakshmi Cement-Sariya on Gohana Road. He was shot at point-blank range around 9:30 am.

According to eyewitnesses, a bullet pierced through his neck and exited through his cheek, leaving him in a pool of blood. The attacker fired about three rounds before fleeing, with the additional bullets hitting various parts of the shop.
