Dharamshala, Feb. 3 -- A fire broke out in a shop on Gurudwara Road at the district headquarters, Dharamshala, early Monday morning, causing an estimated loss of around Rs 5 lakh.

According to information, the fire erupted around 4:45 am in a shop owned by a local youth, Simran, under unknown circumstances.

A resident noticed the blaze and immediately alerted others, preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby market area and vehicles parked close by.

The flames spread rapidly, resulting in extensive damage to the shop. On receiving information, residents rushed to the spot and informed the Fire Brigade. The fire-fighting team reached the site promptly and brought the fire under control after considerable effort.
