New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- The Punhana Crime Branch in Haryana arrested two men early this morning, including a most-wanted individual, police said.
"Abid, who is wanted in nearly a dozen cases including loot, attempted murder, cattle smuggling, and illegal arms possession, was arrested after an encounter. He was shot in the right leg during the operation," said a spokesperson for the Nuh police.
Following the encounter, he was admitted to Government Medical College in Nalhar for medical care.
According to the spokesperson, a bullet struck the bulletproof jacket worn by Assistant Sub-Inspector Suraj. Police also recovered a country-made illegal firearm and a motorcycle from the scene.
