Mainpuri, Sept. 28 -- A 16-year-old girl who had come to visit her maternal uncle to attend a Ram Barat procession was found dead this morning in the bushes along Barnahal Road near the Karhal railway underpass.
The incident has sparked outrage and suspicion, with the girl's family accusing her uncle of murder.
According to the police, the deceased, a resident of Kehri village under Karhal police station, had arrived yesterday at her uncle Mohanpal's rented house on Sirsaganj Road to attend the religious festivities.
Later that night, the uncle reportedly informed the family that the girl had run away from home, taking some jewellery and cash with her.
