Bengaluru, March 2 -- Opposition leaders in Karnataka on Sunday strongly criticised Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over his remarks regarding the participation of film stars in the Mekedatu padayatra, asserting that actors are not the minister's "slaves."
Shivakumar, speaking at the inauguration of the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival on Saturday, triggered a controversy by stating that he knew when to "tighten the nuts and bolts" of those in the film industry if they failed to support movements aimed at the welfare of the state.
