Bengaluru, Aug. 22 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has stoked a political row after he was seen singing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) anthem inside the state assembly, prompting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to intensify its attack on the Congress.
A video clip lasting 73 seconds circulated widely on social media showing Shivakumar singing "Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrubhume" within the assembly premises. The incident followed a remark by Leader of Opposition R Ashoka who alleged that the Deputy CM had once worn the RSS's trademark uniform of khaki shorts.
