Bengaluru, Nov. 20 -- A minister and several MLAs loyal to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar left for New Delhi on Thursday to meet the party high command, signalling renewed rumblings of a power tussle within the ruling Congress.
The political movement unfolded on the day Chief Minister Siddaramaiah completed two-and-a-half years in office.
Tensions between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar have persisted since the Congress returned to power on May 20, 2023.
Although Siddaramaiah was chosen as Chief Minister after intense internal negotiations, reports at the time suggested a possible rotational arrangement under which Shivakumar would take over midway through the term.
