Bengaluru, July 1 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress president DK Shivakumar today issued a disciplinary notice to party MLA Iqbal Hussain over remarks made to the media concerning a potential change in the state's leadership.
The notice refers to Hussain's recent comments speculating on a possible replacement of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
"A few days ago, you made statements to the media regarding the possible change of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Your public statement to the media has caused embarrassment to the Congress party. The statement you made is also considered a violation of party discipline," the notice reads. Hussain has been asked to submit a written explanation within a week.
