Bengaluru, Oct. 8 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivkumar today condemned the alleged attempt to attack Chief Justice of India B R Gavai inside the Supreme Court, calling the act "highly condemnable" and demanding strict action.

Speaking to the media, Shivkumar said, "He is the CJI. Although the CJI has stated that no action will be taken, strict action must still be taken. It is wrong. They must take suo moto action."Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also expressed his condemnation, stating that anyone attempting such an act should be debarred.
