Shivakumar closes ranks with BJP on Dharmasthala
Bengaluru, Aug. 14 -- In an unusual alignment across the political aisle, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today adopted the BJP's narrative on the Dharmasthala mass burial row, calling it a "well-planned conspiracy" to malign the temple town and its Dharmadhikari, Dr Veerendra Heggade.
Speaking in the Assembly, Shivakumar accused unnamed forces of orchestrating a smear campaign. "This is a well-planned conspiracy to tarnish someone. I will not reveal today who has done it, but on August 18 the truth will come out," he said, signalling that the legislature will witness a politically charged disclosure.
