Davanagere, April 1 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday projected a picture of growing consolidation for the Congress in Davanagere South bypolll, asserting that cross-party support and strong organisational groundwork were driving what he described as a visible political shift in the region.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Shivakumar said that thousands of individuals from different political backgrounds had joined the Congress, signalling what he termed as a broad-based alignment across communities. He added that minorities, along with other sections of society, had expressed their intent to back the party, reinforcing its grassroots presence.
