Mumbai, Aug. 20 -- The alliance of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has suffered a defeat in the BEST Employees' Co-operative Credit Society elections, failing to secure even a single seat out of 21 contested positions.
The election results, declared this morning, showed that the much-hyped Thackeray brothers alliance, contesting under the 'Utkarsh Panel', could not open its account despite fielding candidates for 19 seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT) fielded 18 candidates whilst the MNS contested two seats.
