Pune, July 23 -- Anand Goyal, Pune city organizer of Shiv Sena today urged Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister, Eknath Shinde, to ease the mandatory reservation of "amenity space" for small plot owners, a rule that he claims is creating significant challenges for economically disadvantaged citizens seeking to build their homes.

Goyal highlighted that even when a large plot of land is subdivided into smaller plots of less than 2 hectares, the rule requiring the reservation of amenity space based on the total land area recorded in the 7/12 extract still applies.

This, he argued, has made construction on smaller plots both difficult and unaffordable for many.
