Mumbai, May 24 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday said the party is open to the idea of forging an alliance with the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), for the "sake of Marathi people".
While talking to media persons in Mumbai, Raut said that "Uddhavji's stand on an alliance with Raj Thackeray is both manase (from the heart) and dil se", adding that the Shiv Sena (UBT) maintains a "positive approach" towards a tie-up with MNS in the interest of Marathi people.
"Uddhav Thackeray is not averse to taking a positive step towards MNS," Raut added.
Speculation around a possible rapprochement between Uddhav and Raj Thackeray has been circulating in Maharashtra's political circles for weeks.
