Pune, Oct. 9 -- A delegation of Shiv Sena (UBT) from the city submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, demanding immediate relief and justice for farmers who have plunged into deep financial distress due to recent heavy rains.
Despite repeated assurances of complete farm loan waivers by the current and previous governments during assembly elections, the promises remain unfulfilled, leading to widespread discontent among farmers.
In this backdrop, a delegation of Shiv Sena (UBT) Pune city submitted a memorandum to the district collector.
The memorandum pointed out that rising input costs, low market prices compared to the minimum support price (MSP) and the high cost of fertilisers and pesticides have made farming unprofitable.
