Mumbai, Nov. 29 -- n a significant political development, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) and Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) will jointly contest the upcoming municipal elections in five major corporations across the state.

The alliance will be in place for elections in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Nashik.

Both parties have decided that neither Uddhav Thackeray nor Raj Thackeray will directly intervene in seat-sharing or candidate selection. Instead, local leadership in each municipal area will be given full authority to manage the process.
