Nagpur, Dec. 9 -- After days of disagreements, the ruling allies, the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, have reportedly decided to contest municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra, including in Mumbai and Thane, together.

According to sources, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, in a late-night meeting on Monday, agreed that the parties would contest the polls as part of the existing Mahayuti alliance.

The meeting, held in Nagpur during the winter session of the state legislature, was attended by BJP leaders Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Ravindra Chavan.

It was also decided that the two parties would avoid poaching each other's members.
