Nagpur, Sept. 2 -- The Maharashtra government's delay in releasing funds for the "Shiv Bhojan Thali" scheme has pushed many centres in Nagpur to the brink of closure.

Operators say they haven't received grants for the past eight months, leaving them unable to bear the operational costs.

The scheme, launched in January 2020 to provide affordable meals to the poor at Rs 5 per plate, is now struggling due to financial constraints. Many centres in the city have either scaled down operations or are on the verge of shutting down completely.
