Mumbai, Feb. 13 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday announced that the state government would initiate strict measures against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in Mumbai. He said Aadhaar cards and other government documents allegedly obtained fraudulently would be verified.
Stating that the city must be made "Bangladeshi-free", Shinde said investigations would be conducted wherever such individuals are found and necessary action would be taken, including deportation.
