Mumbai, Sept. 8 -- Ahead of the upcoming vice-presidential election, the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena convened a meeting in the national capital under the leadership of MP Shrikant Shinde.

The party expressed confidence that all its votes will go in favour of the National Democratic Alliance's candidate and current Maharashtra Governor, CP Radhakrishnan.

The election, scheduled for September 9, follows the resignation of former vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar due to health issues. The Opposition has fielded retired Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy as its candidate.
