Shimla, March 2 -- Intensifying its drive under the "Zero Tolerance Against Drug Abuse (Chitta)" campaign, police have registered seven NDPS cases and arrested twelve alleged drug peddlers within a span of one week.

Approximately 50 grams of heroin (chitta) were seized in operations carried out between February 21 and February 28, 2026.

Officials said the crackdown covered multiple jurisdictions, including Chirgaon, New Shimla, Boileauganj, and Deha police stations. In Chirgaon, 4.53 grams of heroin were recovered from an accused during late-night patrolling at Sandasu.

A major breakthrough came in New Shimla, where a special team raided a premises at Lower Khalini, seizing 6.560 grams of heroin and arresting three persons.
