Shimla, Aug. 1 -- Shimla district will observe Mother's Milk Week from August 1 to 7 focusing on promoting infant health and maternal awareness under the theme "Invest in breastfeeding, invest in the future."
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that various awareness activities will be conducted at the district, block, and Anganwadi levels to mark the occasion. All Child Development Project Officers have been directed to ensure active participation under the supervision of the District Program Officer.
Highlighting the importance of breastfeeding, the Deputy Commissioner noted that mother's milk plays a crucial role in protecting infants from diseases, boosting immunity, and supporting brain development.
