Shimla, Feb. 25 -- In a dramatic inter-state confrontation that has sent shockwaves through administrative and political circles, a covert operation by Delhi Police in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday spiralled into a high-voltage standoff, raising questions over whether the state's intelligence wing was caught napping.

Sources indicate that a Delhi Police team had been camping in Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh for two to three days before launching a sudden crackdown in Rohru subdivision of Shimla district.

The team, travelling in four vehicles, allegedly detained three Youth Congress office-bearers in connection with protests held during the AI Summit 2026 in Delhi.
