Shimla, Nov. 27 -- Construction work on the twin-tube tunnel at Bhattakufar- part of the Kaithlighat- Shimla four-lane (NH-05 Shimla Bypass Package-II)- has been suspended with immediate effect following fresh safety concerns raised by the district administration after the recent subsidence on the Mehli-Dhalli road.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has issued written directions to the Project Director, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Regional Office Shimla, ordering a complete stop to all excavation, tunnelling, blasting and associated activities until further orders.
