Shimla, March 3 -- In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, the Shimla district police have detained a habitual narcotics offender under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Acting in compliance with a detention order issued by the Himachal Pradesh Government, a team from Police Station Nankhari on March 2 took Prem Raj alias I.D. Mehta alias Santosh Mehta, son of Vir Singh and resident of village Jagot, tehsil Nankhari in Shimla district, into custody.
He has been sent to the District Correctional Home, Kaithu, Shimla for a period of three months under preventive detention provisions.
