Ranchi, Sept. 24 -- Jamshedpur-born playback singer Shilpa Rao, who won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for Chaleya in the film Jawan, has returned to Jharkhand and dedicated the honour to her home state.

At the 71st National Film Awards ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, the President of India presented the award to Rao, who wore a traditional black bandhgala outfit. She shared the stage with actor Shah Rukh Khan, who won Best Actor for the same film. Rao said the award was not just hers but belonged to Jharkhand, which she credited for shaping her and giving her strength to pursue her dreams.
