Joymala Bagchi, Jan. 7 -- As a majority of Matua community's fate related to the electoral roll remains unsure ahead of West Bengal assembly polls, a statement from Shantanu Thakur, minister of state for shipping at the centre and a Matua community member himself has kindled hopes of the community. Thakur said that he has apprised the Home Minister about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) certificates and received assurance to look into it.
"This is a lengthy process. I have apprised the matter of the present situation of the Matua community and CAA certification process to Home Minister. He has assured to look into the matter of CAA certification" said Thakur.
