Palampur, Jan. 16 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former union minister Shanta Kumar on Friday hailed the landslide victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the municipal bodies and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in Maharashtra.

In a press statement issued from Dubai, Shanta Kumar congratulated the party on what he described as a "historic and emphatic" win.

However, he expressed concern over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's reaction to the results, alleging that even after such a decisive mandate, Gandhi has raised claims of vote theft.
