Dharamshala, Nov. 22 -- Former Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar on Saturday said it is extremely worrying that the law-and-order situation in Himachal Pradesh is deteriorating day by day. Kumar said the state, once known as one of the most peaceful regions in the country, is no longer holding that reputation as incidents of crime are increasing continuously.
Shanta Kumar said two major incidents reported in newspapers today reflect this decline. In Una district, bullets were fired during a birthday party, leading to the death of a child who was being celebrated. In Solan district, a shooting took place inside a university campus. Such incidents, he said, have become shockingly frequent.
