Mumbai, July 12 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced the dissolution of the Shani Shingnapur Temple Trust following allegations of large-scale corruption.

Declaring that those who exploit faith in the name of God will not be spared, Fadnavis stated that the temple's management will now be handed over to a government-appointed board.

The temple, a revered site for devotees from across India and abroad, is at the centre of a financial scandal involving alleged misappropriation of funds. Local MLA Vitthal Langhe has claimed that a scam worth Rs 100 crore has taken place, while MLA Suresh Dhas has estimated the fraud to be as high as Rs 500 crore.
