Guwahati, May 28 -- Advocate Shamima Jahan on Wednesday took the oath of office as an
Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court.

Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court Vijay Bishnoi administered the oath to Shamima Jahan in a ceremonial function held at the High Court premises.
Shamima Jahan's appointment follows a notification issued by the Central Government on May 26, which announced the appointments of seven advocates across the country as judges of various High Courts.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Shamima Jahan's appointment as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court in 2024.
