New Delhi, June 15 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed the preparation for the forthcoming Census of India here.
The meeting was attended by the Union Home Secretary, Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India (RG&CCI), and other senior officials, a Home Ministry statement said.
The government said that the official notification to conduct the Census will be published in the official Gazette on June 16.
The Census will be carried out in two phases. In the House listing Operation (HLO) phase, data on housing conditions, assets and amenities of each household will be collected.
