New Delhi, May 7 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday convened an urgent meeting with Chief Ministers, DGPs and Chief Secretaries of border states here.
According to sources, apart from the Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Directors General of Police and Chief Secretaries also participated in the meeting.
According to sources, the meeting was called in view of the civilians being targeted by Pakistani firing on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. During the meeting, it was emphasised that residents from border areas should be shifted to safer places as soon as possible.
