Visakhapatnam, Dec. 24 -- Indian women's team opening batter Shafali Verma delivered a scintillating performance in the second T20I against Sri Lanka, smashing an unbeaten 69 off just 34 balls to guide India to a comprehensive seven-wicket victory.
Shafali's explosive knock, studded with 11 boundaries and a six, not only sealed the win but also saw her enter the record books as the youngest female cricketer to score a T20I fifty.
With this innings, Shafali also achieved 12 T20I half-centuries, the most by any woman cricketer at the age of 21. West Indies' Stafanie Taylor and Ireland's Gaby Lewis have jointly occupied the second rank on the list with 10 half-centuries each, while India's Jemimah Rodrigues sits on seventh position.
