Mumbai, March 24 -- Young batswoman Shafali Verma has secured a place in the BCCI's annual retainers list for the 2024-25 season despite not having featured in the national team since October last year.
The 20-year-old has been placed in Grade B, which carries a retainer worth INR 30 lakh.
The BCCI has awarded contracts to 16 players, one short of the 17 announced in April 2023.
Notably, the board did not make the 2023-24 contract details public.
As in the previous cycle, only three players-captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Deepti Sharma-have been offered Grade A contracts, valued at INR 50 lakh each.
