Imphal, Aug. 16 -- In a major drug bust, Manipur Police and CRPF jointly arrested two individuals, Jenarul Mia from Maldah District, West Bengal, and Deba Das from Karbi Anglong District, Assam, and seized more than two kilograms (2.066 kgs) of suspected heroin powder yesterday.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested a militant yesterday in Soibam Leikai, Imphal East district.
During ongoing operations at Ngariyan Chingyang in Imphal East District, security personnel recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including a 12-bore double-barrel gun, magazines for INSAS LMG and SLR rifles, live rounds of various calibres, tear smoke shells, anti-riot cartridges, stun shells, and numerous empty cartridges.
