Los Angeles, Nov. 9 -- Mike Smith, best known for his role as Bubbles on the cult comedy series "Trailer Park Boys," has been charged with sexual assault, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), as stated by Variety.
Court documents obtained by CBC reveal that Smith was charged on October 2 in connection with an alleged assault that occurred on December 30, 2017, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
According to Variety, Trailer Park Boys Inc. released a statement confirming that they are "aware of the allegation concerning Mike Smith" and that he has stepped away from his position as the company's managing director.
