Bhopal, June 10 -- A heatwave alert was issued in 11 districts of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday as scorching heat wave continues to grip the state due to hot winds blowing in from Rajasthan, India Meteorological Centre (IMD) said.

There seems to be little respite from the heat in the coming days. The capital city Bhopal is also reeling under the intense heat, affecting daily life.

June 9 was the hottest day of June so far, with temperatures soaring to around 45 degrees Celsius in nearly a dozen districts.

In Bhopal, the mercury touched 43 degrees Celsius, resulting in extreme heat. People are facing difficulties commuting to work due to the scorching heat since Tuesday morning.
