Severe Cyclonic Storm Montha : Landfall process to continue for another 3-4 hrs in AP

Chennai, Oct. 28 -- The landfall process of the Severe Cyclonic Storm "Montha" overthe Bay, which commenced this evening off Andhra Pradesh coast, is continuing and willcontinue for the next 3-4 hrs, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, DirectorMs B Amudha said.

The landfall process will continue for the next 3-4 hrs for the Severe Cyclonic Stormto completely cross the coast between Machilapatnam and Kalingapatnam nearKakinada.

She said the Severe Cyclonic Storm over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 17 kmph during the past six hours and lay centeredat 1930 hrs of today over the same region.
