Severe Cyclonic Storm Montha : Landfall process continues, to cross AP, Yanam coast in 2 hrs

Chennai, Oct. 28 -- The landfall process of the Severe Cyclonic Storm "Montha" overthe Bay, which commenced this evening off Andhra Pradesh coast, is continuing and willcontinue for the next 2-3 hrs, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, DirectorMs B Amudha said.

The landfall process will continue for the next 2-3 hrs for the Severe Cyclonic Stormto completely cross the coast between Machilapatnam and Kalingapatnam to thesouth of Kakinada. during the next two hours.

She said the Severe Cyclonic Storm over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during the past six hours and lay centeredat 2030 hrs of today over the same region.
