Ranchi, July 27 -- In a political jolt to the ruling alliance, several workers from JMM and Congress joined the AJSU Party on Sunday during a merger event at the party's central office in Ranchi.
AJSU chief and former Deputy CM Sudesh Mahto said his party will corner the Hemant Soren-led government in the upcoming Assembly session over rising crime, illegal mining, and failure to deliver on key welfare promises.
"We gave them six months to perform, but nine months have passed and the state remains in chaos. Law and order is broken, and mafias rule unchecked," Mahto said.
He also questioned the removal of six lakh women from the Maiya Samman scheme, accusing the government of using welfare as a vote-bank tool.
