Bengaluru, April 29 -- Several workers of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) were detained on Wednesday during protests against the launch of the book 'Umar Khalid and his World' in Bengaluru, as the BJP intensified its attack on the Congress government, accusing it of crossing "every limit of appeasement" by allowing the event and acting against protesters.

Umar Khalid is a key accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
