Shimla, June 4 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for seven districts of Himachal Pradesh following intense pre-monsoon showers accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms, which disrupted power, traffic, and communication lines in parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, the fresh spell of weather activity over the last 24 hours led to a significant dip in temperatures across most regions. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Keylong at 4.4degC, while Shimla reported 9.2degC, 7.2 degrees below normal. Other hill towns like Kalpa (6.5degC), Manali (10.3degC), and Solan (13.8degC) also recorded temperatures 3-6degC below normal.
